Woman faces charges after threatening her children

YOUNGSTOWN — A Thalia Avenue woman is expected to be arraigned later today in municipal court on a child endangering charge after she was arrested about 5:15 p.m. Sunday for threatening her children.

Reports said police were called to the home of Zipporah Thompson, 27, by the father of the children, who said he had cellphone video of Thompson punching one in the face. The children are ages 1 and 2, reports said.

The father called Thompson and put the call on speaker for police to hear and she told the boyfriend if he did not get the kids she would kill them, reports said.

Reports said police went to the house and when they took Thompson into custody, she banged her head into the side of a cruiser several times before she was taken to the Mahoning County jail.

The county Children Services Board was also called, reports said.
