UPDATE | Hundley guilty on all counts, faces death penalty

YOUNGSTOWN — Jurors today found Lance Hundley guilty of aggravated murder with death-penalty specifications for the Nov. 6, 2015, beating and strangulation death of Erika Huff, 41, in her Cleveland Street home.

Jurors will return May 30 to hear testimony to determine if Hundley should be put to death.

Hundley is also guilty of attempted murder for the beating of Johnson's mother and aggravated arson for trying to burn his victims.

Jurors got the case to deliberate at 10:40 a.m. and came back at 2:20 p.m. with their verdicts.

YOUNGSTOWN — Jurors in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court informed Judge Maureen Sweeney that they have a verdict in the Lance Hundley capital murder case.

The verdict will be announced shortly.

Hundley, 48, of Warren, could face the death penalty if he is convicted of the Nov. 6, 2015, beating and strangulation death of Erika Huff, 41, in her Cleveland Street home. He is also accused of the attempted murder of Huff’s mother, and aggravated arson for trying to burn his victims and the home.

Testimony began in the trial last Monday and jurors heard closing arguments today. Hundley testified on his own behalf Friday and blamed Huff’s family for her death.
