Man gets 18 years for murder he committed as juvenile

YOUNGSTOWN — A man who pleaded guilty to committing a murder as a juvenile will spend at least 18 years in prison.

Braquan Walker, 19, received a sentence of 18 years to life for the 2015 death of 18-year-old Jarell Brown.

Walker was 16 years old at the time of the killing.

A juvenile court judge initially dismissed the case against Walker, but an appeals court decision sent it back to Mahoning County Common Pleas Court earlier this year.
