Mr. and Mrs. Zapko celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zapko of Youngstown recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary at a family dinner at Davidson’s Restaurant in Canfield.

The couple’s children are John D. Zapko and Nikki R. Zapko, both of Niles, and the late Suzanne L. Zapko. They also have two grandchildren.

Mr. Zapko married the former Sharon S. Skodacek on April 20, 1968, at St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Zapko was a Licensed Practical Nurse for St. Elizabeth Hospital and Meridian Arms Living Center in Youngstown until she retired in 2005.

Mr. Zapko was a pharmacist for 40 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital until he retired in 2006. He is a lifetime member of the Western Reserve Fish & Game Association and the National Rifle Association.

The couple are members of Zion Lutheran Church in Austintown, where they are active in activities and committees.
