The Rockets broke open a 1-0 game with three runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and six in the sixth. Dylan Durkin, Micah Mamula-Zarlingo, Bryan Harris, Matt Hvisdak and Nate Solak all drove in runs during the six-run outburst. Lowellville (10-7, 7-5 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference) had 15 hits in the game, led by Harris and Hvisdak with three each. Solak, Dom Layko and Vinnie Kacir each had two hits. Anthony Petrovich was the winning pitcher for Lowellville. He lasted four innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero. Jason Higgins threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. James Harris and Devan Christoff had two hits for Jackson-Milton (10-10, 8-5).

AJ Perkins pitched a two-hitter and struck out four for the Clippers on Senior Night. He needed just 58 pitches to complete a shutout. Zach Fahs singled, doubled, tripled and scored twice. Aaron “Axle” Thistlewaite had two hits, scored twice and drove in run. Dejon Hudson was a stalwart at second base and turned a double play for Columbiana (9-13, 8-3 Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference),

Cardinal Mooney’s Anthony Potesta and Jake Fonderlin drove in three runs each. Ryan Stefanec went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for the Cardinals. Brennen Olesh and Antonio Page each had an RBI. Stefanec allowed a hit and struck out one in the win. Page allowed six runs, four earned, in two-thirds of an inning. Logan Wright lead Gilmour Academy with three RBIs. Matt Christopher got the loss. He allowed one unearned run in an inning of work.

AUSTINTOWN
Austintown Fitch pitchers Nick Desalvo and Nick Bianco combined on a one-hitter. South Range pitcher Sam Brooks allowed six hits, five runs and struck out three in four innings. Mike Grazier had two doubles, five RBIs and scored a run. Kole Klasic had two hits, four RBIs and one run scored for Fitch (17-7). Vinny Direnzo had two hits and scored two runs. Robby Russo had a double and a triple. Fitch will play Boardman in the sectional finals today at Fitch.

Boardman pitcher Dylan Gurski had nine strikeouts in the sectional final win. Gurski allowed two walks and a run in a complete game. New Philadelphia pitcher Layne Perks allowed four runs, two earned, in the loss. Luke Cardillo had two RBIs for the Spartans (15-8). Mike Melewski was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Cam Kreps had a double and drove in a run.

MINERAL RIDGE
Mineral Ridge’s Taylor Squiric went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Teammates Dakota Edwards and Wyatt Skruck both had two RBIs and two runs scored. Koby Zupko, Cam Watkins and Jake Teeters each drove in a run. Jake Carfalo allowed three runs on five hits and struck out two in two innings in the win. Niles pitcher Michael Holloway allowed six runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks in 22/3 innings. Ken Flanigan went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Red Dragons. Niles’ Marco DeFalco and David Mays each drove in a run.

Sebring broke a 4-4 tie with the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth. Sebring’s Nick Weingart had three hits and two RBIs, and Josh Hammond also drove in two runs. Heartland Christian’s Caleb Graft had two hits. Gabe Lanzer struck out five in four innings for the Trojans. Graft also struck out five in 32/3 innings.

Ryan Slaven struck out five while giving up two hits and two walks in six innings for the win. Ryan Demsky struck out one in the seventh to complete the shutout for Western Reserve (12-8). Garrett Mihalick was 3 for 3 and Dom Velasquez, Dallas Smith and Josh Slaton each had two hits.

Adam Wilbert hit two doubles and Andy Miller hit a triple to pace Mathews (17-3). Hunter Schoenfeld struck out two and walked two to get the win. Mike Wiebe had two hits for Bristol (8-5).

Brandon Walters had three hits, including a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored for Springfield (15-3). Springfield pitcher Shane Eynon threw four innings, giving up two runs in five hits and a walk, to get the win and push his record to 7-0. Eynon stuck out four. Josh Honeycutt hit a double to go with three hits for Newton Falls.

Matt Fink had two hits and scored three runs. Noah Arnold scored twice and had three RBIs and Evan Arnold had two hits, scored twice and had two RBIs.

Maggie Moore homered twice, doubled and drove in four runs and Tatianna Matuz also hit a home run for the Falcons. Colleen Hurst also had three hits and Sheridon Wilber, Angelica Sack, Cheyenne Kase and Matuz each had two for for Jefferson (19-1, 8-0 All-American Conference White Tier). The Falcons led 7-3 after six innings, but scored 11 runs in the top of the seventh. Wilber scattered nine hits for the victory. Avrey Steiner had three hits for the Bulldogs (10-6, 8-2) and Tori Wells and Cait Kelm each had two.
