ELECTION UPDATE | Cordray, DeWine have early leads in governor's race

COLUMBUS — Richard Cordray has a large early lead in the Democratic gubernatorial race. In early voting, Cordray has more than 83,000 votes statewide. He faces five challengers, including Joe Schiavoni of Boardman.

In the Republican gubernatorial race, Mike DeWine has garnered more than 73,000 votes. His opponent Mary Taylor has 38,000.
