Cardinal Mooney 11, South Range 4

BOARDMAN

Brennen Olesh drove in three runs and had three hits to lead Mooney (13-4). Antonio Page and Ethan Shaw had a pair of hits each and Anthony Potesta drove in two runs for the Cardinals. For South Range (10-12), Brycen James drove in two runs and Jake Gehring had two hits. The game was played at Boardman High School.

North Canton Hoover 2, Ursuline 0

STRUTHERS

Ursuline’s Anthony DeCato had tough luck, allowing one earned run in seven innings, striking out six and giving up six hits and three walks to take the loss. Vince Armeni, Jeremy Kreuzweiser, Hector Rosa and Robert Graygo each had one hit for the Irish (7-15). For Hoover, Jordan Hite was 2 for 2 with a double and Justin Houstin gave up four hits and a walk in five innings while striking out four as the game’s winning pitcher.

Columbiana 14, Southern 6

COLUMBIANA

Columbiana (8-11, 7-3 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference) pounded out 15 hits, including four from Ryan Fahs and three from Joey Bable. AJ Perkins went 2-for-3 on the day while knocking in four runs. Chase Franken broke the single-season school record for triples with his seventh in the third inning during his 2-for-3 day. Evan Kenneally also had two hits and Steven Anderson plated three runs. Zach Fahs (2-1) picked up the victory for Columbiana going the distance. Fahs allowed six runs (five earned) while striking out eight and walking one.

West Branch 3, Kent Roosevelt 0

BELOIT

Brent Alazaus pitched a complete game, striking out seven for West Branch (18-4). Alazaus also hit a home run, while TJ DeShields, Josh Stahler and Dakota Gurney also had base hits. Zac Common had two hits for Roosevelt (9-9).

NEWBURY

Mike Wiebe had three hits and two RBIs to lead Bristol (8-4) over Newbury. Matt Church also had two hits and Seth Mooney drove in two runs for the Panthers. Matt Fink had two hits for Newbury.
