Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Novotny celebrate golden anniversary

AUSTINTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Novotny Sr., of Austintown, were honored recently on the occasion of their 50th anniversary with a surprise party at Caffe Capri Italian Bar & Grill in Boardman. The celebration was hosted by the couple’s children.

Their children are Stuart Jr. (Kelly) of Boardman; Susan (Gregg) Bettross of Youngstown; Sharon Novotny of Austintown; and Sheryl Novotny (Wagner) also of Austintown.

Brandon, Natalie, Nathan and Emily Wagner; Joshua (Sharon Novotny); and Laura and Noah Bettross are the grandchildren who complete their family.

Mr. Novotny and the former Donna Balog were united in marriage April 27, 1968, at The Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown.

Mrs. Novotny was a registered pediatric nurse before having her children. She then worked at Pat Catan’s Craft Center’s in Austintown and Hermitage, Pa., until she retired in 2012.

Mr. Novotny was a butcher for Kroger and then worked at General Motors until he retired in 2006. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

The couple are members of Calvary Baptist Church.
