ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women Youngstown Branch will meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, at 10 a.m. Saturday. The meeting will begin in the church parlor on the ground floor of the parish house. Refreshments will be served, and veteran church tour guides William Farragher and Emma Jones will relay bits of history of the church. Then, the two will lead tours of the sanctuary. Altrusa Club of Youngstown will meet for a Creative Luncheon on Thursday at Drake’s Landing, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Cost is $25. Mahoning Valley Chapter of Polka Dot Powerhouse will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Upstairs Restaurant, 4500 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Warren Women's Connection, an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries, invites all women to attend its luncheon, ”Life’s Flower Garden” at Delucia’s Banquet Center, 2610 Elm Road NE from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 May 14. The special feature will be presented by Brenda Jarvis who will be answering the question “Who Was Noah’s Mother?” She also is in charge of the music. The speaker will be Lisa Haley on “Surviving Life’s Surprises.” The reduced price for first-time participants is $10. All others are $13. Stonecroft Ministries is a non-denominational organization that reaches out to all women across the country and around the world. Luncheons take place the second Monday of each month. Western Reserve Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave., Boardman, for lunch and a presentation. William Burney, executive director for the Community Initiative to Reduce Violence for the City of Youngstown, will discuss strategies for navigating workplace violence issues, having a plan in place and implementation of programs to ensure safety and compliance. Youngstown Area PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church Parish House, 323 Wick Ave. Meetings take place the second Tuesday of each month. Youngstown Area PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends and Allies) is a support, education and advocacy group united with LGBT people to move equality forward. PFLAG provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. Meetings are free and confidential. Parking is available in the church parking lot off of Wick Ave.
