Gospel act returning to Dutch Village

Renowned gospel music act the Chuck Wagon Gang will return to the Dutch Village Inn, 150 E. state Route 14, for three performances April 12 and 13.

The concerts will be at noon both days, with an additional 7 p.m. show April 13.

Founded in the 1930s, the Southern gospel group is the oldest mixed gospel group with ties to its original members that is still performing and recording.

D.P. “Dad” Carter formed the group in 1935, and the act has gone on sell more than 40 million records and has received dozens of musical awards.

Voted the number one gospel group of all time by Southern Gospel Radio, the Chuck Wagon Gang maintains a clear and uncluttered sound, presenting all of the old favorites like “I’ll Fly Away,” “Higher,” “I’ll Meet You in the Morning” and many others.

The April 13 evening performance includes a four-course gourmet buffet and the matinees feature a four-course plated luncheon.

An overnight stay package is available for all performances, which includes dinner and show tickets, a guest room and a hot breakfast.
