Christian concert at Yambar art show

Local recording artists Terry and Diane McCabe and Pastor Joe Thomas will present a Jesus People Reunion concert Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St., downtown.

The concert marks the halfway point of Chris Yambar’s “House of God” art exhibition at the gallery. Attendees will receive a limited-edition mini-print signed by Yambar, who will host the free event.

Terry and Diane McCabe will perform selections from their extensive catalog of 16 albums, including their recent “Dance the Dream” and upcoming “Akoustic Skarekrowz” CDs.

Since his debut release in 1981, Terry has played at festivals, churches, taverns and coffeehouses throughout the United States, Canada, Holland, Germany and the U.K. Terry and Diane have shared the stage with Petra, Rick Cua, Randy Stonehill, Randy Matthews, Scapegoat Hawkins Lee and Lamb.

Pastor Joe Thomas of Victory Assembly of God Church in Vienna is a recording artist and former front man for the Christian band Omega Sonship. During the 1970s and ’80s, his band produced four albums of contemporary Christian rock. Pastor Thomas and his wife, Donna, joined the staff of Victory Assembly in 1988.
