Taft Neighborhood program presents Wellness series

YOUNGSTOWN

Taft Promise Neighborhood is presenting the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program of Ohio State University’s Extension Service today as part of its ongoing “Wellness Wednesday” series.

Lessons are designed to teach families with children about U.S. Department of Agriculture recommendations using an interactive approach.

Each lesson contains research-based information, physical activity, parenting tips, advice on stretching food dollars, and food tastings including recipes with healthy choice suggestions.

Program is offered at Taft School, 730 E. Avondale Ave., at 4 p.m. through May 2.

Taft Promise Neighborhood was organized in 2014 to revitalize and strengthen the neighborhood surrounding Taft School on Youngstown’s South Side.
