YOUNGSTOWN
The Skating Club of Greater Youngstown will host Scott Hamilton, former American figure skater, Olympic gold medalist and cancer survivor, at 2 p.m. April 22 at the Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St.
It is the first Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer event in the area. There have been successful Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer events in Boston, Washington, Philadelphia and Nashville, and the program has raised approximately $600,000 to date.
Hamilton will emcee the event and proceeds will benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, the local charity of choice.
CARES is the Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship and is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient.
The Sk8 to Elimin8 cancer is a peer-to-peer fundraising event that began in 2015.

Donate and ask friends and family to donate through you personal page and website
Attend the April 22 Sk8 to Elimin8 Ice show
Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.com or in person at The Southwoods Health Box Office, inside the Apostolakis Auto Group main entrance at the Covelli Centre.
