President Donald Trump called Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday to congratulate him on his re-election, drawing bruising criticism from members of his own party. Trump also said he and Putin might meet “in the not too distant future” to discuss the arms race and other matters.

A defamation lawsuit brought by a former contestant on “The Apprentice” who accused Trump of unwanted sexual contact can move forward while he is in office, a judge ruled Tuesday. Judge Jennifer Schecter wrote that “no one is above the law” in siding with Summer Zervos, who sued Trump after he dismissed as “fabricated” and “made-up” her claims of misconduct at a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel in 2007.

A former Playboy model who claimed she had an affair with Trump is seeking to invalidate an agreement that prohibited her from discussing the relationship. The woman, Karen McDougal, filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Los Angeles against the company that owns supermarket tabloid National Enquirer.
