Staff report
NEW WILMINGTON, PA.
As part of its transfer to new owners, The Tavern on the Square restaurant, 108 N. Market St., will be closed for minor upgrades between Sunday and April 1, and will reopen April 2.
“The Tavern is a landmark in New Wilmington and a treasured favorite of locals and tourists who come to enjoy time-honored traditional and exciting new foods,” said Todd Ulicny, new co-owner of the restaurant. “When we reopen, the community will continue to have access to the same menu as they have enjoyed for many years, including the [buy one-get one) Monday special menu and, of course, sticky buns.”
All reservations and gift certificates on the books will be honored and the restaurant will resume reservations for special occasions. To book a reservation, call 724-946-2020.
“We love the Tavern exactly as it exists today,” said new co-owner Alma Ulicny.
The previous owners of the historic restaurant were Joe and Sue Hougelman.
