GFWC Ohio Austintown Junior Women’s League recently completed a conservation project to benefit veterans. The league received a donation from “Things Remembered” of erroneously embroidered blankets and robes from which members created lap blankets, walker bags and therapy balls. They also trimmed out the fabric, sewed seams, fringed the blankets and added decorative buttons. League members designed and signed greeting cards for each item, thanking the veterans for their service. Harry Reinhart, Specialist 4th Class, who is a bilateral amputee, spoke to the club about the need for the items. Reinhart delivered items donated by the AJWL to the Wade Park VA Medical Center in Cleveland.
