Master Gardeners will meet for coffee at 9:30 a.m. at the Mahoning County OSU Extension Office, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield. Program will take place from 10 to noon. Garden Gate Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. for scarf making from T-shirts. Hostess will be Geri Tarka.

Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. at the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds. Meeting topic will be wildflowers, perennials and more. Gordon Vujevic will be the guest speaker. Hostesses will be Carol Check and Shirley Szabo.

SATURDAY

Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown will meet for its spring breakfast at 9 a.m. at Fellows Riverside Gardens. There will be an informative speaker. The public is welcome.

Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown Area will present its spring event, which will be hosted by Immaculate Heart Garden Club and Hubbard Junior Garden Club, at Fellows Riverside Gardens on April 21. Registration will take place from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Pat Connolly, developer and builder of the 911 Memorial in Austintown, will speak. Lunch will take place at noon and includes stuffed peppers, butternut squash pirogi, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad, dessert and a beverage. Kathy Lutz, of Lutz Greenhouse, will demonstrate a floral design after lunch. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. The public is welcome. Paid reservations must be made by April 7. Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will host a spring garden symposium, “Gardener’s Delight,” April 14 at First United Methodist Church, 135 Decker Drive, New Castle, Pa. Adam Haritan will present “Spring Foraging for Wild Edible Plants;” Brandon Ratvasky will share “New Plants of 2018;” Scott Sjolander will present “A Practical Introduction to Assessing Tree Risk:” and Michael Stern will present a demonstration of “Bonsai.” Cost is $45 and includes a light breakfast, lunch buffet with vegetarian and vegan options, beverages and workshop packet.
