Brad Hoersten and Gina Strauss, both of Chicago, exchanged marriage vows Sept. 16, 2017, at St. Christine Church. The ceremony was solemnized by the Rev. John Keehner. A reception followed at The Lake Club in Poland.

The parents of the bride are Thomas and Cheryl Strauss of Youngstown. The groom is a son of Mark and Beth Hoersten of Chagrin Falls.

The couple honeymooned in Italy and reside in Chicago.

The bride wore a strapless, mermaid-style gown covered in lace with layers of ivory and white tulle.

Julie Brownlee, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids, wearing embellished champagne dresses, were Renee Zetlin; Alexandria Scianna; Taylor Amendolara; Rebecca Dulany; Hannah Francis; Taylor Sigman; Gianna Hlebovy, the bride’s cousin; Jenna Hoersten, the groom’s sister; and Aubrey Miller, his cousin.

The flower girls were the groom’s cousins, Abigail Suman, Emerson VanFleet and Ellie Mae Suman.

Luke Hoersten, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Chas Martin, Andrew Hemmerlein, Eddie Sellers, Robbie Cardoze, Zach Watkins, Matt Siwiec, Will Borror, Adam Lavergne, Nick Guerra and the groom’s cousin, Reece Miller.

Luca Brownlee, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Mrs. Hoersten earned a degree in marketing from Ohio State University. She is a global marketing manager for OST Industries Inc. in Chicago.

Mr. Hoersten earned a degree in business management from Purdue University. He is a sales manager for Schindler Elevator Corp. in Chicago.
