‘Janis Joplin’ show at Stambaugh has been canceled

YOUNGSTOWN

The Nov. 16 performance of “A Night with Janis Joplin” at Stambaugh Auditorium has been canceled.

The touring Broadway musical’s management informed Stambaugh Auditorium today of the cancelation, according to a spokesman for the venue.

Those who have purchased tickets can get a refund at their point of purchase. If the payment method was a credit or debit card, the refund will be issued to that card.

Opera company elects officers

YOUNGSTOWN

At its annual meeting, Opera Western Reserve elected Atty. Denise Glinatsis Bayer as vice-chairwoman and re-elected Dr. Clyde Morris as secretary.

Bayer has previously served as a member of the executive committee. She and Morris join Elliot Legow, board chair, and Scott Schulick, treasurer, as officers of OWR.

Former vice-chairman Rodney Lamberson was elected as an at-large member of the executive committee, joining Gary Sexton and past chairwoman Patricia Fleck Kavic.

Newly elected as trustees to three-year terms were Susan McGrew, Joseph Desalvo and Nick Giancola. Recognition was made to emeritus trustees Jacqueline Bibo and Dr. Albert Cinelli, both of whom passed away this year.
