Twilight Tour

When: Friday, 6-7 p.m.

What: Take an evening tour of the farm. Farm animals sleep at night just like most of us; you can help close down the barns as we make a final trip through the farm before dark. Weather permitting, we will end our trip with a marshmallow roast.

Where: MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield.

Cost: $3, cash only.

Saturday Summer Kayak

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon.

What: Enjoy a guided paddle ride on Lake Newport and through the wetlands with Naturalist Nick Parish. Take in the beautiful scenery, search for wildlife, and enjoy spending some quality time on the water.

Where: East Newport Boat Launch, East Newport Drive, Youngstown.

Cost: $12, Mahoning County Residents, $15 NR. Half-price for second person in tandem.

Family Fun Fridays

When: Friday, 11 a.m. -1 p.m.

What: Each Friday, take part in fun drop-in activities in the Family Garden to learn and explore together. Special guests visit each week with activities like yoga, the pop-up library, crafts, storytelling and more.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown.

Community Garden Tour

When: Tuesday, 6-7:30 p.m.

What: Come to Youngstown’s West Side to see the fruit and vegetables growing in their community garden. Bring your questions about your garden and enjoy an evening adventure with the master gardener volunteers.

Where: Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Gardens, 116 S. Hazelwood Ave. Youngstown

Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown

When: Next Thursday, 7 p.m.

What: Join the MGCY for their July program and learn more about everything from preparing flowers for judging to how to grow the best plants in your garden.

Newport Wetlands Tour

When: July 7, 8-10 a.m.

What: Join Naturalist Bill Gilmour for a paddle around Lake Newport and a venture up into the wetlands to look for beaver activity and other wildlife interaction.
