“Pippin,” directed and choreographed by David Jendre. Musical director is Jason M. Fair and Joanna Andrei is assistant director. Auditions at Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, 330-788-8739, 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Performance dates are Sept. 7-9, 14-16. Roles available are as follows: Pippin (male, early to mid-20s); Leading Player (male or female, 20s to 30s); Charlemagne (male, late 40s to early 60s); Fastrada (female, early 30s to early 40s); Lewis (male, early 20s); Berthe (female, early 60s to 70s); Catherine (female, late 20s to mid-30s); and Theo (9 to 11 years old). The singing-dancing ensemble called The Players in the show, is heavily featured throughout and a small group of men and women (age 18 and up) will be selected. A more complete breakdown of character requirements is available on the Playhouse’s Facebook page. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a song that showcases their voice and range.
