2018 Leadership Award

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Mental Health & Recovery Board recognized Mercy Health Youngstown and Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley with the 2018 Leadership Award during its recent annual recognition luncheon.

“Together, we have been able to build safe rooms in the Austintown and Boardman emergency departments, provide mental health navigation to ensure patients receive the care they need, and put Ohio certified peer recovery supporters in the emergency departments and local treatment centers to address the growing addiction problem in our area,” said Anna Cobbin, a member of the board of directors of the Mahoning County Mental Health & Recovery Board.

This project adds 14 beds at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital that will provide for on-demand access to detoxification services.

"All of these services are critical to our community and are only possible because of Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley. We could not have funded these services at this level without Mercy Health Foundation," said Duane Piccirilli, executive director, Mahoning County Mental Health & Recovery Board.
