Maura Picciano and Michael McGiffin, both of Poland, were united in marriage Dec. 16, 2017, during a ceremony that was officiated by the Rev. Edward Noga at St. Patrick Church. A reception took place that evening at Stambaugh Auditorim in Youngstown.

The groom is a son of J. Timothy and Lisa McGiffin of Poland. Maurus and D. Kathleen Picciano are the parents of the bride.

The bride wore an all-over Chantilly lace drop-waist gown with a bateau neckline and scoop back. It featured long bell sleeves with scalloped details. The ensemble was complemented by a cathedral-length blusher veil.

The bride’s mother was matron of honor. Bridemaids were Rylee Jankowsi, niece of the bride; Anna Thomas, niece of the groom; Ava Picciano, niece of the bride; and Charleigh Jankowski, niece of the bride.

The attendants’ dresses were soft gold.

The groom’s father performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Jake and Colby Jankowski, the bride’s nephews; Bruce Thomas, the groom’s nephew; and Dominic Picciano, the bride’s nephew.

Ushers were Marc and Anthony Pacella and Ryan McGiffin, the groom’s cousins, and Ty Puckett, the bride’s cousin and godson.

Mrs. McGiffin graduated from Youngstown State University with a master’s degree in counseling and student affairs. She is an assistant director of the Penguin Service Center at YSU.

Mr. McGiffin graduated from YSU with a master’s degree in counseling and student affairs. He is the director of development and community relations at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown.

The couple honeymooned in Italy and reside in Poland.
