Union Elementary students had their spring concert at Poland Seminary High School on May 16.

The concert featured second-grade students singing songs from popular movies. The students dressed as superheroes, princesses and other characters from films. Music teacher Dana Emery directed the students.

Principal Michael Masucci walked out and spoke to the audience before and after the program.

He thanked the parents for coming out and Emery for her work with the students.

Their show began with “Try Everything” from the movie “Zootopia,” followed by “Spirit of the Season,” from “The Polar Express.” They then sang “True Colors” from the “Trolls” soundtrack.

Students had small skits between each song to introduce the song. For example, a student dressed in a Spider-Man outfit walked up and introduced the next song, which was the theme to the “Spider-Man” television show.

After the Spider-Man song, students walked to the microphone to talk about the strong female protagonists in Disney films, leading into “We Know Who We Are,” from “Moana.” The finished the night with “Better When I’m Dancing,” from “The Peanuts Movie.”
