ASSOCIATIONS
Mill Creek Chapter of ABWA will meet July 10 at the Georgeanne Parker Pavilion in Boardman Park. Networking will take place at 6 p.m. followed by a picnic-style dinner at 6:30. The installation of the 2018-19 officers will take place during the meeting. The public is welcome.
CLUBS
Round Table Woodcarvers meet every Thursday from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at the Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Anyone interested in learning about carving is welcome to attend. For information, call 330-792-4355.

Youngstown South Christian Women's Connection will meet for the "The Star Spangled Banner Waves" luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 11 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The guest speaker will be Bess Stettler, Goshen, Ind., as she presents "There's No Place Like Home." Genevieve's Kitchen will be featured and music will be presented by Rachel Joy. Cost is $14 and includes lunch. Reservations must be made by July 4 and cancellations are necessary. Niles Historical Society will meet for its regular membership meeting at 10 a.m. July 7 in the Westenfield Room at the Ward-Thomas Museum. Plans will be discussed for the upcoming Heritage Day on Aug. 4.

Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman; at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support and education to people and families dealing with serious mental illness. This group is specifically for individuals dealing with substance abuse and mental illness. Safe Talks with Valerie Flanigan, licensed social worker, will be presented by Judge Beth A. Smith of Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court from 10 to 11 a.m. each Wednesday in June at the Mahoning County Courthouse, basement level. These meetings are intended for anyone who has safety concerns in their relationship or who experience domestic violence. Week one will cover the signs of an abusive personality, week two will cover the topics of power, control and the cycle of violence, week three will cover how to know if someone has changed and week four will cover understanding emotional abuse.
