Registrations are being accepted for a summer day camp for children and youth at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen St.

Youth ages 10 to 16 are invited to learn and use outdoor skills at the 2018 Outdoor Summer Experience Camp taking place from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 9-13. Lunch and snacks will be provided during both camps. For details or to receive a brochure, call 724-964-8886.

‘Listening Campaign’

ACTION will host “Time for our Issues Campaign: New Issues discussion: A Listening Campaign” from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane. Three members from a church or organization are required. A light meal will be served. Monsignor Robert Siffrin is the host pastor.

The Ursuline Health and Wellness Center, 4280 Shields Road, can help improve your physical, mental or spiritual fitness. The Motherhouse pool offers classes for all ages. They also have SilverSneakers by Tivity Health classes for mature adults comprising strengthening, cardio, water and yoga. Retreat for women

Church anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN

New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will celebrate its 94th anniversary at 5 p.m. June 24. The Rev. Michael Harrison and congregation of Union Baptist Church on the city’s North Side will be the special guests. The theme for the event is “Transformed into His Image, As We Serve for His Glory.” A video honoring deceased members will be played from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

Conference retreat

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen Road, will host a conference retreat with Paulette Kirschensteiner entitled “Praying with Clay.” The retreat is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. July 8 and conclude at noon July 12. The cost is $215 and includes the retreat, lodging, supplies and meals/refreshments from a light supper on Sunday to lunch on Thursday. Registration is required by June 25. Fundraiser planned

GIRARD

Following June will perform a fundraiser for the Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, at 6:30 p.m. next Saturday. The concert is family friendly, free and open to the public. Fundraiser donations or love offerings will be accepted. Those attending are asked to bring chairs.

Investigation closed

CANTON

The formal diocesan investigation for the Cause of Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Rhoda Wise will close July 6. The Acts of the Case will be presented and sealed for transport to Rome at a 10 a.m. Mass to take place at St. Peter’s , 726 Cleveland Ave. NW, on July 7, the 70th anniversary of her death.

The main celebrant will be Monsignor Robert Siffrin, Vicar General of the diocese. The celebration will continue with a Eucharistic holy hour, recitation of the rosary and the opportunity of confession after Mass.
