Sponsor a Seat day for Robins Theatre

Staff report

WARREN

Those who want to help with the renovation of the Robins Theatre in downtown Warren can do so with the Sponsor a Seat campaign.

For $289, donors can provide for the complete refurbishment of one of the nearly 1,500 seats in the theater. Every aspect of the seats will be refurbished – frame, paint, wood, upholstery – before it is returned for opening night in early 2020.

Seat sponsors can commemorate a friend, a family member, an organization, a special occasion or a business, or can simply be a way to leave a personal mark on the historic theater. A metal plaque with a three-line inscription will be permanently affixed to the seat of your choice on the main floor, in the mezzanine or in the balcony.

Seat sponsorship is not a reservation of the seat for future events. Event tickets must be purchased separately.

The seat sponsorship campaign is offered by the Friends of the Robins Theatre Foundation, which was formed to provide support for the restoration and maintenance of the theater. The Foundation has applied for and is awaiting IRS recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization. Once this formal recognition is received, all seat sponsorships will be tax deductible, and a confirmation will be sent to all sponsors acknowledging the donation.

To sponsor a seat, go to robinstheatre.com/sponsor-a-seat.

To do it in person, stop by the Saratoga Restaurant on June 21, between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., for Sponsor A Seat Day. Patrons will be able to choose the seat or seats they would like to sponsor. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card.

Before and after images of the $5- to $7-million restoration project will be on display at the Saratoga.
