COLUMBIANA

Lamppost Farm, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using agriculture to reach and teach others through education, hospitality, stewardship, discipleship and quality food, will host Farmageddon 2018, a chew and brew, from 3 to 8 p.m. July 15 at 14900 Market St., Columbiana.

Each of five participating breweries will be teamed with a local food truck in a competition designed to showcase a signature brew and complementing chew using Lamppost’s quality meats. Attendees will vote for their favorite pairing. Ballots will be drawn throughout the evening for prizes. At the end of the event, ballots will be counted to determine the winning chew-and-brew team.

In addition to battling it out through samplings of food and drink, Farmageddon 2018 will include live entertainment, games and the opportunity to shop for an event T-shirt, grass-fed/pastured products and works by local artisans in the farm store. Tickets are $40 and include a sampling of food and beer at each of five food trucks/brewery pairings, an event pint glass, live music and games. Also available will be a “DD package” for two individuals for $70 that includes two chew passports and one brew passport. Individuals must be 21 or older to participate in the tastings. Space is limited; pre-registration is required by July 8 at https://squareup.com/store/lamppost-farm.
