Dobbins Elementary students spent a fun day at Eastwood Field on May 15 for Youngstown State University’s baseball game against Kent State University.

The school was one of many schools at the game, but their third grade students got the chance to sing the National Anthem before the game.

YSU offers tickets out to the schools each year. These tickets included a small lunch and the baseball game. The teachers asked if their third grade students could sing ahead of the game, and they were given the opportunity.

The game nearly rained out, but the students got to watch their local university play ball after a forty minute rain delay.

Principal Michael Daley said he tried to organize events like this each year. Last year, the students all went to a hockey game.
