More state track Friday from Columbus
DIVISION I
AUSTINTOWN FITCH — Neither the boys 4x100 relay team (Tyrese Bandy, Drew Bretsik, Ralph Fitzgerald, Jakari Lumsden) nor the 4x200 (Bandy, Bretsik, Fitzgerald, Anthony Caulton) made the finals of their respective events.
BOARDMAN — Micah Beckwith got on the podium with a seventh-place finish in the seated shot put, with his best throw coming at 10 feet, 8.75 inches.
EAST — Giovanni Washington failed to qualify for the 100 finals.
WARREN HARDING — A dropped baton cost the boys 4x100 relay (Jamel Anderson, Sterling Frazier, Theran Hargrove, Kayron Adams). Adam also failed to reach the 100 finals. Faith Burch did not qualify for the 100 hurdles, but competes in the high jump today.
DIVISION II
GIRARD — Michael Belcik did not make the finals in the 400.
HUBBARD — Jared Southern failed to make the finals in the 400, but will compete in the high jump today.
LAKEVIEW — All of the Bulldogs’ athletes — Ashley Bowker (100, 300 hurdles), Mara Wilson (300 hurdles), Liam Boivin (110 hurdles) and the girls 4x100 relay team (Sarah Kloboves, Danaysha Murray, Jordan Roper, Wilson) — did not make the finals.
POLAND — The girls 4x200 relay team (Psalm Woody, Ava Izenour, Mia Musolino, Chloe Kosco) did not advance to the finals.
SALEM — Both the boys (Jackson Corbisello, Trey Double, Quinlan Rumsey, Hunter Christopher) and girls (Halle Cochran, Carly Hall, Georgia McLachlan, Haley Rozeski) 4x800 relay teams placed seventh. Despite being one of two girls in the discus field with a seed throw over 140 feet, Caitlyn Marx did not place, fouling two throws and reaching 119-03 on her third throw, which wasn’t enough to make the final round. The boys 4x100 (Josh Lehwald, Zach Murray, Andre Tonkinson, Turner Johnson), the boys 4x400 (Seth Ameduri, Corbisello, Johnson, Rumsey) and the girls 4x400 (Katelin Chilton, Lydia McKee, Cochran, Rozeski) relay teams did not make the finals.
SOUTH RANGE — Kayti Aczel placed seventh in the discus with her best throw coming at 129-01. Mathias Combs did not reach the finals in the 100.
STRUTHERS — Kylel Griffin did not reach the finals in the 300 hurdles.
WEST BRANCH — The boys 4x200 relay team (Logan Caserta, Cohen Lamp, Griffin Lough, David McKeiver) did not make it to the finals.
DIVISION III
BADGER — Devin Moore took the last spot the finals in the 110 hurdles by 0.01 seconds with a time of 15.26 seconds. The boys 4x400 relay team failed to qualify for the finals. Kiersten Tricker failed to place in the high jump, failing to clear 5.
BROOKFIELD — Alex Bell did not make the finals in the 400, finishing 14th overall.
COLUMBIANA — Kayla Muslovski just missed a spot in the finals in the 200, finishing 10th overall with a time of 26.21. She fell short of the cut by 0.09 seconds.
LABRAE — Dynesty Ervin was injured during the 100, where she did not make the finals and did not race in the 200. Savannah Bennett did not place in the high jump, bowing out at 5.
LIBERTY — Madyson Hamner is the lone Leopard in today’s finals after finishing eighth overall in the 100 prelims. Justin Clark failed to make the finals in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, as did the boys (Wynsten Andrews, Migel Burgess, Justin Cizmar, Zion Matlock) and girls (Nysa Gilchrist, China Tate, Sierra Williams, Hamner) 4x200 relay teams.
LISBON — Seth Stokes, the reigning state runner up in the high jump, placed seventh. He failed to clear 6 feet, six inches.
LORDSTOWN — The boys 4x400 relay team (Jordan Beyah, Dominic D’Amico, Marcel Jenkins, Jermaine Jones) made the finals as the No. 4 seed. Greg Romain failed to place in the high jump at 6-02.
MAPLEWOOD — The boys 4x800 relay team (Adam Burgard, Ryan Dancison, Ethan Faatz, Ethan Sparks) was two seconds short of making the podium, taking ninth place.
MATHEWS — Claire Miller did not place in the shot put.
MCDONALD — The girls 4x200 relay (Naomi Domitrovich, Abbie Matig, Olivia Perry, Jessica Stamp), is the No. 8 seed in the finals. Olivia Lovas did not make the podium in the discus, finishing 12th overall.
NEWTON FALLS — Libby Barrecca placed fifth in the discus, with her best throw coming at 128-06.
SPRINGFIELD — Garrett Walker did not make the finals in either the 100 and 400. Shantel Springer was 15th in the high jump and the girls 4x200 relay team (Haley LaMorticella, Cierra Latronica, Anna Ohlin, Springer) finished 16th overall in prelims.
SOUTHERN — Bradley Sloan fouled all three of his jumps, failing to place.
UNITED — Camryn Jarrett tied for fourth place at 5-02.
VALLEY CHRISTIAN — India Snyder was an inch and a half short of the podium, taking ninth in the long jump with the best leap coming at 16-08.50.
