West Side Cats has cats 1 year-old and older that need good homes before the move to the new location in September.

Library to host 'Texting Slang 101'

SALEM

Brad Davis, a detective with the Salem Police Department, will present the program "Text-ing Slang 101" from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Quaker Room of the Salem Public Library,821 E. State St.

Registration is required to attend and may be done online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or call the library at 330-332-0042. The program is open to the public and free to attend.

Veterans' Outreach seeks volunteers

Veterans'Outreach has several events planned for this summer. Anyone who is interested in joining the volunteer team to help with tributes and celebrations, or anyone in need of information, can call 866-212-5592 or email jely@veteransoutreach.org.

The patriotic concert is slated for Aug. 25, and the Ohio Flags of Honor will take place Sept. 21, 22 and 23.

ASMV to host fundraiser

The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley will host the 6th annual Mike Hull Memorial Ride for Autism on Saturday. Hull was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather of a granddaughter on the autism spectrum, whom he cherished.

He also was a musician who loved playing and donated his time and talent to organizations in need. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. at Dash Inn, 2716 Mahoning Ave.

Cost is $10 per rider, which includes a food ticket. The Blessing of the Bikes will begin at 11:45 a.m. followed by the ride at noon. From the Dash Inn, riders will travel to the Grandview (Lake Milton), Power House Cafe (Salem), STYX (Austintown), Brick House (Youngstown) and end at West Side Bowl (the former Strikers/Mahoning Valley Lanes) with a bowling and pizza party. Free for all children and adults with special needs from noon to 10 p.m.

Music provided by DJ Crazy. Nonriders are invited to participate in the 50-50 raffle. Proceeds will support the programming of the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley.
