Pink Door Ministries will host a benefit auction at 10 a.m. Saturday at the North East Ohio Retreat Center, 16278 Shillings Road, Berlin Center. Pink Door is a nonprofit organization that provides a long-term recovery program for the transition of women from human trafficking. FESTIVALS

FUNDRAISERS

Ernie Hall Aviation Museum, 4033 North River Road, Warren, will host its 6th annual Wings ‘n Wheels event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 5. Flyovers by the C-123 and others will take place. There also will be over 750 hot rods, vintage, classic and exotic cars and motorcycles on display. Individuals will be inducted into the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum Hall of Fame, tours will be available, a DJ will provide music, and food and souvenirs will be available for purchase. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 6 to 12. Children under 5 are admitted for free. Proceeds benefit the museum, the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County and Northeast Ohio Adoption Services.

Knights of Columbus President Charity Fund will sponsor a golf outing Aug. 12 at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course at Lake Milton. Proceeds benefit Delaney Yeager, a young girl with Down Syndrome, hypothyroidism and a heart deformity. Registration takes place from 7 to 7:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8. Steel Valley Woofstock will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Yankee Lake Ballroom, 1814 state Route 7 NE, Brookfield, as a concert event to support and celebrate the work of Animal Welfare League. The event was created and organized by local veterinarian Dr. Suzanne Wilcox. Doors will open at 5. The concert’s performers will include Generation Rock, The Huckin Fillbillys, and Second Avenue Project. Special guest Dennis Drummond also will perform. Drummond, now residing in Nashville, is a native of Warren, and has performed on the TV show “The Voice.” Cost is $35 and includes concert admission for all band performances, soft drinks and finger foods plus a progressive prize drawing. Austintown Township Park will host the first annual Eye Run in the Sun, a 5K race for vision, Sunday. New Middletown Village will host its National Night Out on Aug. 7. NNO is a nationwide crime-prevention initiative that brings out citizens and police in a relaxed atmosphere. Sutliff Museum is announcing its exhibit that will run through August. The exhibit is “Being a Victorian: Hygiene History of the 19th Century,” and explores the hygiene habits of men and women in the late 1800s. There also is an exhibit of “The Original S’mores” ornaments. Each ornament shows a snowman made of marshmallows depicting various holidays, occupations, milestones of life, and more. Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts, 34 N. Phelps St., Youngstown, in cooperation with the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, is sponsoring a “Donate a Hot Dog” campaign to help provide food to the area’s homeless population. Throughout the year, Suzie’s customers can donate a hot dog for the hungry and write a note of support. Donations will be matched dog-for-dog by the restaurant. On the second Wednesday of every month, employees will provide a meal and bring all the notes for the overnight residents and meal visitors at the Rescue Mission. The goal is food for the body and encouragement for the spirit. The project is inspired by the shooting death last November of Colin Brown. Brown worked in the restaurant industry, managing newly opened restaurants and helping get them off the ground. He was a volunteer with the Common Wealth Kitchen Incubator in Youngstown, was known for his pay it forward attitude and always helping those in need.
