JULY

Wednesday — Independent Insurance Agents of Mahoning County Junior Golf Classic at Mill Creek Golf Course. Tournament is open to anyone younger than 19 on Wednesday. Brackets are 14-and-older playing 18 holes and 13-and-younger playing nine holes. Rainbow International Restoration is the sponsor covering golf fees. Thursday — Fitch 76 N Friends’ 7th Annual Charitable Golf Scramble at Lakeside Golf Course. All proceeds from event benefit Austintown families or Fitch alumni in times of needs. Golf costs $70 per person. Event includes coffee/donuts, DiRusso sausage lunch, Barry Dyngles dinner, skill/hole in one prizes and auction. Hole sponsorships for $50 are available. Thursday — Austintown Optimist Club offers a 9-hole scramble with shotgun start at 3 p.m. at Bedford Trails in Coitsville. Format is for two-person teams — one adult and one youth 17-and-younger. Fee is $50 per team and includes cart, non-alcoholic beverages, picnic and trophies for top three teams. Hole sponsorships are available ($50 per hole, $100 for three holes or $200 for seven holes). Saturday — Fourth annual Warren Sports Hall of Fame Golf Scramble at Riverview Golf Club. Shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $280 per team ($70 per player). Dinner only costs $25. 29 — Blue Devils Father/Son Golf Outing at Mahoning Country Club. The event is a two-person scramble. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with play beginning at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person and $60 per team. Teams should include a son or daughter with another family member. Price includes 18 holes and a cart. A hotdog and drink will be provided at the turn. Skill holes, mulligans and string will be available. Raffle baskets will be available. 30 — Valley Christian Golf Outing at Avalon Golf & Country Club. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $100 per person and includes greens fees, cart, continental breakfast, hot dog at the turn, steak luncheon and beverages throughout the day. 5 — 28th Annual Lowellville High School 4-Person Golf Scramble with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Bedford Trails Golf Course. Cost is $75 per golfer and $300 per team. 17 — 20th annual Ankle & Foot Care Centers Diabetes Golf Benefit, a four-person scramble at Pine Lakes Golf Club. The tournament raises money for the Diabetes Partnership of Mahoning Valley. The event has been sponsored by Ankle & Foot Care Centers since 1999 and has raised more than $165,000 for services and education for diabetes patients. Registration at 9:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. The fee of $100 per golfer includes golf, lunch and dinner, beverages on the course and skill contests. Lunch will be served on the course with dinner at the pavilion immediately following the event. Registration deadline is Aug. 8. Hole and corporate sponsorships are available. 25 — 24th annual Girard Lions Golf Outing at Mahoning Country Club. Cost is $70 per four man scramble. 1 — Eighth annual Ron Meiss Jr. Memorial Scramble at Deer Creek Golf Course. The four-person scramble has an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. ‚ãA graduate of Hermitage High, Meiss Jr. was a teacher in Farrell Schools. 8 — Answer to Cancer four-person scramble at Bedford Trails Golf Course. Cost is $60 per person with an 8 a.m. shot gun start. The event is supporting the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center. Will feature a closest to the pin contest, hole prizes, door prizes and a buffet lunch.

30 — Beating Cancer with a Club for Anthony Gidaro at Bedford Trails Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit Gidaro who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The event is a four-person scramble with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Cost are $60 per person (includes: breakfast, lunch, 18 holes and cart, dinner and beverages) and $20 per person (includes dinner and beverages).
