Jenkinses to mark 60th anniversary with open house
CORTLAND
Mr. and Mrs. David Jenkins of Cortland will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at an open house at the Clubhouse of Ohio Living Lake Vista, 303 N. Mecca St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 5.
A private family celebration will take place Aug. 4.
The event will be hosted by the couple’s children, David (Terri) Jenkins Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas; Dwight (Phylecia) Jenkins of Gloucester, Va; Karen (Bill) Tomlinson of Liberty; and Jennifer (Michael) Smerick of Cleveland. Four grandchildren complete their family.
The former Phyllis Shuler and Mr. Jenkins were married Sept. 6, 1958, at Epworth Methodist Church in Youngstown.
She worked as a homemaker.
Mr. Jenkins worked as an appraiser for First Federal of Youngstown and First Federal of Warren. He continued his career with First Federal of Warren, holding the positions of loan counselor, branch manager, vice president of retail lending and vice president of lending operations before retiring in 2014. He is now employed by Lane Funeral Home.
The couple have been active in the community, serving on various boards and participating in group activities.
