Police seek suspect who stole $1,000 in razors

BRAINTREE, Mass.

This suspect appears to be clean-shaven, but that didn’t stop him from allegedly stealing $1,000 worth of razors from a Massachusetts store.

The Braintree Police Department said they’re seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man accused of stealing more than $1,000 in razors from a Stop & Shop in the town last week.

The police department’s Facebook page had posted a message asking for anyone with information on the suspect to contact police, or for the suspect to turn himself in.

The post says the police will give the smooth criminal a “big internet high five” for doing the right thing.

Video surveillance shows the suspect wearing a gray sweatshirt and pants.

Snap! Alligator tempted by frog captured in pond

PLYMOUTH, Ind.

An alligator that was hanging out in a northern Indiana retention pond has been captured after being lured to shore with a frog.

Brandon Crawford of Goshen told WSBT-TV that he and a friend captured the reptile and turned it over to police in Plymouth, about 20 miles south of South Bend. Crawford said he’s from Texas, where gator hunting isn’t unusual.

WNDU-TV reported that the alligator is 2 to 3 feet long and may have been a pet. The reptiles are usually found in the wild in southeastern states and can grow to 13 feet.

Teenage boys fishing at the pond said the alligator tried to eat their bait. Residents flocked to the pond to see “Ali” the alligator.

Firefighters rescue raccoon that got head stuck in mayonnaise jar

ITHACA, N.Y.

Firefighters in upstate New York helped out a presumably hungry raccoon that got its head stuck inside a mayonnaise jar.

The Ithaca Fire Department said the raccoon was spotted in a tree during its recent predicament.

The Ithaca Journal reported that both city firefighters and a state Department of Environmental Conservation officer got the animal down.

They placed the raccoon into a large plastic tub and freed its head.

Once the DEC officer determined the raccoon was not injured, it was let go. The critter was last seen running toward a nearby creek.
