The MTV Video Music Awards nominees were unveiled this week, with Cardi B leading the pack with 10 nods. The winners will be announced at an Aug. 20 ceremony that will be televised. Here are the 2017 winners:

v Video of the Year: Kendrick Lamar, “Humble”

v Artist of the Year: Ed Sheeran

v Best New Artist: Khalid

v Best Collaboration: Zayn and Taylor Swift, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”

v Best Pop: Fifth Harmony (feat. Gucci Mane), “Down”

“The ESPYS” (8 p.m., ABC): Danica Patrick hosts this annual ceremony that rewards the best in sports.

“Code Black” (10 p.m., CBS): In the series finale, Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor.

Fun, Safety Day at Woodworth Park

NORTH LIMA

The 10th annual Kids Fun and Safety Day will be Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Woodworth Park, 255 Warren Ave., just east of Market Street (turn south on Luther Avenue).

Admission is free to this family event which brings together community groups and safety forces. For information, call 330-549-9552.

Representatives from the Beaver Township police and fire departments, the Ohio State Patrol and Mahoning County Sheriff, as well as the county juvenile court, Safe Kids Coalition, board of health, Safe Communities and Making Kids Count will be at the event.

A variety of local youth organizations will also be represented.

The event will include Jocko the Clown, pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce arounds, face painting and refreshments.

Educational groups on hand will include Bugs Unlimited, the 910th Airlift Wing, the state Department of Natural Resources, Mercy Health Distracted Driver program and the Pop Up Library.

Howard and band at Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN

The next Bands at the Baugh After Dark concert will be Thursday, featuring Howard and the Point Five Band.

The event will start at 7 p.m. at Stambaugh Gardens, 1000 Fifth Ave. Admission is $10 and includes one free drink.

Howard and the Point Five Band is an R&B/jazz ensemble.

Kelly Miller Circus at school grounds

KINSMAN

The Kelly Miller Circus will be in Kinsman on Monday at the old Badger School grounds, 8319 Main St.

The tent raising will be approximately 9 a.m. There will be two performances: 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Advance tickets are $10 ($7 for children 2 to 12) and are available at Kinsman businesses or online at kellymillercircus.com. Tickets will also be sold at the gate.
