Thiel faculty receive recognition

GREENVILLE, PA.

Michael P. Walton and Tom Roberts of Hope Center for Arts and Technology recently joined five faculty members and five staff members as award winners during Thiel's annual Founders' Day celebration.

The following staff members were honored with a distinguished service award: Kim Braden, Tom Jones, Mario Marini, Mike Mason and Stacey Yake. The following faculty members were honored with awards: Karen Kollar, distinguished adjunct; Russell B. Richins, Ph.D., distinguished scholar; James P. Koshan, Ph.D; distinguished service; Kristel M. Gallagher, Ph.D., distinguished teacher; and Greg Q. Butcher, Ph.D., distinguished professor.

College receives recognition

NEW WILMINGTON, PA

Westminster College was recognized by U.S. News & World Report for having one of the best online graduate education programs in the country.

Programs were ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence, including student engagement, student services and technology, admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, and peer reputation.

Programs recognized among nation's best

ATHENS

Ohio University's growing online programs have joined the nation's best in U.S. News and World Report's '2018 Best Online Programs rankings." Four of the university's master's programs - education, engineering, business administration, and business (non-MBA), were ranked among the top 100 programs in the nation. The university's online bachelor's program also joined the rankings.

Chef visits culinary students at Choffin

YOUNGSTOWN

Cooking with a southern flair was the focus of a recent cooking demonstration for students in the hospitality and culinary arts program at Choffin Career and Technical Center.

While cooking, Chef Jeff Cecil from Sullivan University visited to discuss college and career options. He spoke with students about his experience working as a personal chef on tours with the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Kenny Chesney and Mariah Carey.

Chef Cecil will be making stops at other schools in Ohio to talk to students about his experiences.

Cheerleaders win first state championship

North Jackson

Jackson-Milton High School girls cheerleaders, coached by Megan White and Grazia Accordino, are state champions as well as the first in the high school's history to win a state championship.

The girls recently competed against eight other teams in the small school division of the OASSA Cheerleading Championships in Columbus.

This also marked the first time in the school's history the team attended a regional qualifying event.
