Bunnies in Baskets, an F5RS and a 501(c)(3) rescue and sanctuary, will host a "Summer Fun with your Adopted Bun" open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Old School Marketplace, 11836 South Ave., in the basement of building "E." MVHS to sponsor afternoon events

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host free afternoons of family fun on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. for hands-on activities, games, crafts, dress-up clothing and more. Events are sponsored by the Ronald McDonald Charities of Mahoning Valley and Western Pennsylvania. The next open house will take place at the Tyler History Center, 325 West Federal St. on Wednesday. The topic will be “Youngstown Famous.” Guests can play Idora Park games and design their own amusement park, create their own newspaper, paint scenes from nature inspired by Mill Creek MetroParks, design a penguin to cheer on YSU, step back in time and become a historic news broadcaster with a green screen and make ice cream in the home of Harry Burt’s Good Humor Ice Cream. Preston Auto Group Golf Invitational set

The Preston Auto Group will host its fourth annual Golf Invitational to benefit the United Way of Lawrence County on Tuesday at the New Castle Country Club, 511 Country Club Drive. The event will feature Rocco Mediate, six time PGA and two time Champions Tour winner. Participants will have four chances to win a new car based on applicable terms. In the past, this event has raised close to $200,000 to support the United Way of Lawrence County. Mediate will host a golf clinic at 11 a.m. prior to the shotgun start at noon. The evening will wrap up with a cocktail reception that includes hors d’oeuvres and a cigar bar. Cost is $250 per golfer and other sponsorships levels are available. Sports-trivia challenge takes place Thursday

The 4th annual Mahoning Valley Sports Trivia Challenge will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road. Proceeds benefit Potential Development Schools for students with autism.
This is a charity event which features sports trivia, sports celebrities, pub fare and prizes. Entries are available in four-person for $1,000 and eight-person teams for $2,000. Corporate sponsorships also are available.
Chairwoman of the event is Deloran Muransky-Thompson, owner of Ivory & Birch in Boardman; title sponsor is Michael J. Simon, Simco Management Corp.; master of ceremonies is Bob Hannon, executive director of the Youngstown and Mahoning Valley United Way; and Ed Muransky, chief executive officer of The Muransky Companies. The event is in honor and memory of Esther and Morris Simon. There are a limited amount of teams needed. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum to host tour

The Sutliff Museum, as part of its Underground Railroad Tours, will host a bus trip to Cleveland July 29. There will be stops at St. John Episcopal Church and Woodland Cemetery on the on-bus guided tour. The bus will depart from the Walmart, 2016 Millenium Blvd., at 8:30 a.m. and will return by 3 p.m. Cost is $47 and includes transportation, admissions, snacks, guides and insurance.
