Library to host seminar

Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, will host a musical instrument seminar given by Dave Byers with D C Music at 6:30 p.m. Byers will sing a few original songs along with some hits. He will provide an overview of music in general and showcase different types of instruments for participants to try. This program is for all ages. Call 330-424-3117 to sign up.

Foundation to host golf scramble

The Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Foundation will host its 33rd annual Celebrity Golf Scramble Fundraiser at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, at 11:30 a.m. . Bruce Drennan, Cleveland sports talk show host, will be in attendance. Participants will be able to meet and play with Drennan along with other celebrities. Proceeds will benefit the foundation and its work to support the Children’s Mental Health Treatment Programs offered by Alta Behavioral Healthcare, Mahoning Valley’s largest outpatient mental health service provider for children, teens and their families. Sorority hosts ‘Red Door Cafe’ event

The Epsilon Mu Omega and Delta Delta chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. recently hosted its annual “Red Door Caf ” at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Youngstown. Sorority members, including their family and friends, volunteered by preparing and serving hot meals to those in need. The chapters continue the mission of being of service to all mankind and next year will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
