Youngstown police investigating West Side shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating after a man was shot four times Wednesday in the kitchen of a Silliman Street home.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik said officers found a large amount of suspected heroin and a gun at the West Side home when they arrived about 10:05 p.m.

Bobovnyik also said the victim, Elijah Johnson, 30, also served prison time for murder.

Johnson is being treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
