A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Jan. 24

Burglary: Someone entered a residence in the 8600 block of Chesterton Drive through a rear sliding-glass door, then took a wireless card, a $500 men’s ring and two gift cards.

BOARDMAN

Jan. 25

Arrest: A traffic stop at Market and Hillman streets resulted in the arrest of Brittany S. Turner, 29, of Helena Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a bench warrant accusing her of failing to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court.

Theft: Timothy M. Williams, 47, of East Lucius Street, Youngstown, was charged with intentionally failing to self-scan three packages of chicken wings while in Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

Theft: Police at Boardman Area Court on Market Street booked Michael A. Faiola Jr., 33, of Lynn Avenue, Youngstown, on a theft charge. He was accused of stealing $70 worth of clothing and shoes Jan. 8 from Uptown Cheapskate, 105 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Domestic violence: Derrick N. Franklin, 22, of Woodcrest Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with the crime after his former girlfriend alleged Franklin, who also was wanted on a Youngstown Municipal Court bench warrant, entered her Boardman apartment and punched and clawed at her face, then pinned the accuser to the floor and choked her during a fight. The victim had blood on her T-shirt and neck, a report showed.

Theft: A man in his 30s reportedly stole $400 worth of property that included a car seat from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.

Weapon: A vehicle check in the 800 block of East Midlothian Boulevard resulted in the arrest of Leighland D. Johnson, 32, of Winona Avenue, Youngstown, on one felony charge each of carrying a concealed weapon and being a convicted felon with a firearm as well as a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. Johnson, who also was wanted on a Bernalillo County, N.M., warrant charging aggravated assault, had in his vehicle a loaded .40-caliber handgun that was determined to have been stolen in Warren; in addition, he led police on a brief foot chase, a report showed.

Theft: A dealer license plate was removed from a car that belongs to a South Avenue business.

Theft by deception: A man reportedly selected $206 worth of merchandise at Lowe’s, 1100 Doral Drive, then made a fraudulent return on the items for full credit. Also, authorities responded to a similar crime in which a man reportedly bought then made a fraudulent return on a $53 gallon of paint.

Drugs: After pulling her over in the 5300 block of South Avenue, authorities charged Kelli S. Ketterer, 36, of Market Street, Boardman, with possessing drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. A police dog led to the discovery of a spoon with burn marks typical in drug use, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe, a bag of syringes and additional suspected drug paraphernalia, a report stated.

Theft: Video surveillance footage reportedly caught a man taking a $250 toolset from Lowe’s.

Fraud: An Alverne Drive man told officers a caller had tricked him into providing his credit-card number and the last four digits of his Social Security number.

Theft: A Southern Boulevard woman reported her wallet stolen from a friend’s vehicle at a Doral Drive big-box store.

Theft: A man and a woman reportedly stole $115 worth of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, then left in a red Ford Ranger.

Theft by deception: Jovanni N. Johnson, 26, was taken into custody at Boardman Area Court on a theft-by-deception charge. Johnson, of East Philadelphia Avenue, Youngstown, was accused of being one of two women who bought $67 worth of merchandise May 28, 2017, from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, before improperly exchanging the items for gift cards.

Theft: Nicholas J. Boerio, 38, of Vestal Road, Youngstown, and Andrea K. Adams, 25, same address, were arrested in Liberty Township and charged with theft and complicity to theft, respectively, after $115 worth of clothing was stolen from Kohl’s.

Jan. 26

Arrest: After responding to an alarm at a South Avenue business, police charged Randy C. Weber, 23, with disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Weber, of Seneca Street, Niles, yelled profanities at officers and didn’t appear to know where he was, a report said.

Criminal damaging: A woman returned to her vehicle in the 7300 block of Tiffany Boulevard and noticed three flat tires, along with damage to both windshields and a driver’s-side window.

Theft: A Youngstown man reported $241 stolen from him as he shopped at a South Avenue store.

Drugs: Danny T. Williams of South Avenue, Youngstown, faced one felony count each of possessing fentanyl and cocaine after police had stopped his car on West Midlothian Boulevard. Williams, 23, who also was wanted on a Youngstown Municipal Court bench warrant, had one bag each containing 34.6 grams of suspected cocaine and 19.4 grams of fentanyl, authorities alleged.

Harassment: A Glendale Avenue woman said an acquaintance she had met via an online dating site but from whom she wanted no further contact sent her numerous unwanted text messages and came to her place of employment.

Theft: A 15-year-old New Castle, Pa., girl was charged with stealing $527 worth of apparel Dec. 28 from Kohl’s.

Theft: Adam J. D’Apolito, 35, of Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, surrendered on a theft charge after $903 worth of merchandise that included a home-security system was stolen Jan. 22 from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Drugs/weapons: Authorities responded to possible drug activity in the 7200 block of Market Street before charging Justin R. Steetle, 30, of Franklin, Pa., with carrying concealed weapons and possessing drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments, as well as Joshua A. Steetle, 33, also of Franklin, with two counts of drug abuse and one each of possessing drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments. Found were a loaded .44-caliber Magnum revolver, several knives, needles common in drug use, a bag of suspected crack cocaine, numerous bindles of suspected heroin and a digital scale, police alleged.

Domestic violence: Brittany N. Ashton of Oakridge Drive, Boardman, was charged after her mother alleged Ashton, 26, had shoved her during an argument related to a civil issue between them.

Fraud: A Lake Shore Drive man told police someone who impersonated a sheriff’s deputy called claiming a warrant for the accuser’s arrest was issued, supposedly after he had failed to appear for jury duty.

Theft: A woman and a man dressed as a woman reportedly stole 15 articles of clothing from T.J. Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.

Jan. 27

Criminal damaging: A Lockwood Boulevard man noticed an emblem had been torn off his vehicle’s hood.

Harassment: A Ridgewood Drive woman reported a man whom she had briefly dated sent her such text messages.

Jan. 28

Menacing: A Tudor Lane man alleged his mother had threatened to have others beat up the accuser.

Criminal damaging: Someone with a BB gun shot a window to a home in the 8300 block of Tippecanoe Road, which resulted in a $200 damage estimate.

Theft: Krislyn M. Conrad, 27, of East Liverpool, was charged with theft and possessing drug paraphernalia, and Robert C. Johnson, 30, of Canfield Road, Canfield, faced a charge of complicity to theft after $150 worth of property was stolen from Walmart. Found in Conrad’s purse were two cut straws with suspected drug residue, a report stated.

Stolen property: Debra J. Brown, 60, of Cheriwood Court, Boardman, faced a felony receiving-stolen-property charge after her former boyfriend alleged Brown had stolen a temporary tag off his car.

Theft: Tiffany N. McBride, 28, was charged with theft and drug abuse after $97 worth of items, including three T-shirts, was taken from Walmart. McBride, of Townsend Avenue, Youngstown, also admitted having Tramadol, a narcotic commonly used to treat moderate to severe pain, with no prescription, authorities alleged.

Jan. 29

Arrest: Police charged Raymond F. Baker, 73, of Hitchcock Road, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired after having responded to a car crash in the 7600 block of South Avenue.

Fraud: A Pearson Circle woman told authorities someone stole then forged her signature on bank checks to remove $708 from her account.

Theft: A man discovered his $180 cellphone missing from his Prestwick Drive home.

Identity fraud: A North Lima man found out a credit-card application had been filled out in his name without authorization, then sent to a Market Street business he owns.

Theft: Tyler M. Curtis-Ward, 24, surrendered on a theft charge. The Chagrin Falls woman was accused of being one of two people who left Red Lobster, 1410 Boardman-Poland Road, earlier this month without paying a $105 food bill.

Jan. 30

Arrest: An officer responded to a vehicle on East Western Reserve Road that failed to move for a green light and briefly blocked traffic before charging Daniel A. Dilling, 24, of East Calla Road, New Middletown, with operating a vehicle impaired. Dilling registered a 0.165 blood-alcohol content, which is slightly more than double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report showed.
