Help Network of Northeast Ohio has received a $5,000 one-year grant funded by The Raymond John Wean Foundation.

The grant will support Help Network’s Trumbull County Special Navigator for Special Needs Families project. The free project provides a central information and referral source for parents and caregivers of children with special needs and provides personal contact.

The Raymond John Wean Foundation is a family foundation established in 1949 in Warren that awards grants to a variety of nonprofit organizations in support of its vision to empower residents to create a healthy, vibrant, equitable and economically stable Mahoning Valley.

Free bladder health screening set

SALEM

Board-certified urologist Michael J. Scolieri is offering free bladder health screening from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Comprehensive Urology Institute, 2364 Southeast Blvd.

The screening will help identify potential risk of bladder conditions such as loss of bladder or bowel control, frequent urination, pain or difficulty emptying the bladder, frequent or recurring urinary-tract infections and pelvic pain.

Appointments are not necessary. Those found to be at risk will be offered information about potential treatment options.

Nutritional needs

YWCA Youngstown will explore nutrition needs and the availability of meal sources in the Mahoning Valley at a public meeting and panel discussion from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 1 at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave.

Included will be information on the importance of nutrition, a panel discussion on the challenges local service providers face in procuring quality food, and brainstorming solutions for what a better catering service program might look like.

Akron career fair

Akron Children’s Hospital will have a career fair for the following openings on its call center staff from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 9. Positions include scheduling coordinators, senior scheduling coordinators, and call-center trainers.

Interested candidates should text CENTER to 44844 to connect with a recruiter and RSVP. Also, interested candidates must complete an online application.

Recruiters will provide information on how to apply online and will schedule interviews after reviewing the applications. Specific details about location and parking will be provided once an interview has been scheduled. Back pain and sciatica

The Center for Physical Health, 4137 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 104, is offering a workshops on back pain and sciatica at 9 a.m. on Feb. 10 and at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15.

Both workshops, free to community members, are hosted by Marybeth Romeo, a licensed physical therapist. While the workshops are free, registration is preferred as space is limited. To register, call 330-386-3850.

The workshops focus on helping those who suffer from pain in the back and legs when they do everyday activities. The workshops seeks to help naturally relieve the symptoms of back pain and sciatica.
