Man facing weapons, drunken driving charges

WARREN — Leon D. Glover Jr., 24, of Red Fox Run Drive Northwest is facing charges for weapons, receiving stolen property, aggravated menacing and drunken driving after he allegedly threatened another man with a gun after a confrontation among motorists early Saturday on North Park Avenue.

A city man, 48, reported that Glover had threatened him with a gun during the 2:07 a.m. incident at Douglas Avenue.

A police officer was traveling south on Park Avenue and saw Glover’s vehicle drive away from the victim’s vehicle and the victim yelling to “get him.”

The officer followed Glover’s vehicle and saw it crash into a telephone pole at Federal Street, causing wires to land on his vehicle.

Glover and his passenger got out of the vehicle, and Glover appeared to be intoxicated.

He was later tested with a blood alcohol level of 0.125, more than the legal limit of 0.08.

Glover denied he had a firearm, but police later found a handgun near the location where the vehicle came to a stop.
