Austintown seeks 2.4 mill police levy

AUSTINTOWN — The township will submit a police levy to the county board of elections to be on the ballot come next election.

The 2.4 mill levy is a replacement, with an additional increase of 0.8 mills. If passed, the levy would go toward maintaining police vehicles, equipment, communications and salaries.

Trustees said the levy would free up funds in the general fund for other purposes, like maintaining the township’s roads.
