Library to sponsor Spring Art Show

Mercer Area Public Library will host its Spring Art Show that will take place March 23 and 24. The show will feature many different types of art. For a registration form or information, call Cindy Crytzer at 724-815-9023. Number of entries may be limited due to space.

Church will host Super Bowl party

Men’s Club of St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., will sponsor a Super Bowl party Feb. 4. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The event will include food, beverages, prizes, and a big screen television to watch the game. Cost is $50. Contact Bob Dulovich at 330-718-590 to make a reservation.

Ballet students will host pasta dinner

Ballet Western Reserve students, parents and board members will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for YSU students and children under age 12. Tickets are available for purchase from Ballet Western Reserve, 218 W. Boardman St., or by calling 330-744-1934 or stop at the church. Tickets also may be purchased the day of the event. Takeout will be available.

Interfaith Women to host 71st Tea

Interfaith Women of the Valley will sponsor the 71st Interfaith Tea at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at St. Columba Cathedral and hall, 159 W. Rayen Ave. The tea will be hosted by the Catholic Women, and the guest speaker will be Sister Norma Raupple, coordinator of English language learning and outreach. The event is free. Many faiths are represented.

Historical society remembers Tuskegees

Lawrence County Historical Society, 408 N. Jefferson St., will sponsor a program about the Tuskegee Airmen by Jean Speight, local historian and retired New Castle schoolteacher. The program will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the society.

The Tuskegee Airmen were an African American U.S. Army-Air Force unit that fought in World War II. There is no cost and for information call the society at 724-658-4022.

Crafting at library

Salem Public Library will host a free crafting night in the Quaker Room at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Participants are invited to decorate clipboards. The library will provide the materials. Registration is required by visiting www.salem.lib.oh.us or by calling 330-332-0042 for assistance.
