HUBBARD

Jan. 19

Theft: A Hubbard man, 55, was issued a criminal-trespassing warning after he reportedly stole a 10-pack of saw blades and a lock set from Handyman Hardware, 35 S. Main St.

Jan. 20

Theft: Three girls, 10, 13 and 17, were accused in a shoplifting situation at Dollar General, 886 W. Liberty St. They were not charged, but were given criminal-trespassing warnings.

Theft: An employee with Hubbard Community Pool, 250 Hall Ave., discovered a $50 key-fob scanner was missing.

Jan. 22

Citations: While investigating a suspicious vehicle at the dead-end of Hughes Road, officers handed minor-misdemeanor citations to Kayla G. Somlitz, 18, of South Main Street, and Allison L. Patrick, 19, of East Liberty Street, charging the two Hubbard women with possessing drug paraphernalia and marijuana. A jar and a pill bottle with suspected marijuana, as well as a device commonly used to grind marijuana that contained residue, were found, a report showed.

Jan. 24

Theft: Rachael P. Donnadio, 31, of Rebecca Avenue, Hubbard, faced a felony-theft charge after a Youngstown man reported a set of car keys had been stolen from his elderly father, of Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

GIRARD

Jan. 19

Burglary: A woman alleged a man pounded on a door and entered her sister’s Dearborn Avenue home, where he reportedly threw and damaged a cellphone before fleeing.

Theft by deception: A co-owner of Mahoning Country Club Inc., 710 E. Liberty St., told authorities a woman who had coordinated a party last March that the business catered wrote an $8,998 check before it was discovered the woman’s bank account never had the funds to cover the check.

Harassment: A Mohawk Drive woman said she received a series of calls that contained insults and derogatory language.

Menacing: A Church Hill Road woman told police she had received two suspicious calls, then a text message containing a threat to kidnap her.

Jan. 20

Citation: A traffic stop on West Liberty Street resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging Nathan A. McCurdy, 24, of Hunter Avenue, Niles, with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Criminal mischief: A woman reported a living-room window to her East Wilson Avenue residence had been broken.

Jan. 21

Arrest: While preparing to have a damaged vehicle towed from Crumlin Avenue, police charged Lacy E. Quimby of Crumlin, Girard, with disorderly conduct after alleging Quimby, 24, had argued several times with officers regarding the car.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Church Hill Road woman said her 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora had been taken without permission.

Trespassing: A Stambaugh Street man noticed next to his doorway a leaflet that contained information leading him to believe it was a potential scam or fraud.

Jan. 22

Arrest: After pulling him over near Furnace Lane, authorities took Brian A. Guy, 36, into custody. Guy, of West Second Street, Girard, was wanted on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in Girard Municipal Court, as well as one from Niles Municipal Court.

Assaults: Police answered a disturbance call at a West Liberty Street apartment building, where two men each reported having been assaulted by the other. One of the combatants accused the other’s dog of biting him, a report said.

Criminal mischief: A man reported seeing a juvenile male fleeing before discovering a broken basement window to his East Broadway Avenue home.

Jan. 23

Arrest: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 422 resulted in the arrest of Timmogene Howell Jr., 25, of Mill Creek Drive, Boardman, who was wanted on a Campbell warrant.

Trespassing: An East Kline Street man told police he saw a man attempting to enter a neighbor’s vehicle before fleeing.

Theft: A worker for Nickles Bakery Inc., 420 N. State St., realized several items, including a set of headphones and a pair of leather gloves, had been stolen from the building.

Jan. 24

Theft/counterfeit: A Greenwood Avenue man told police a woman gave him a fake $100 bill after he had sold an item for that amount to her.

Animal complaint: A Stambaugh Street man reported a neighbor’s dog continually gets loose and gets into his trash.

Theft: Someone on East Second Street removed a purse, a wallet, a blood-pressure wrist cuff, prescription medication and other items from a vehicle.

Domestic violence: Joshua A. Sutton of East Second Street, Girard, was charged with the crime after his wife alleged Sutton, 35, punched her face during an argument as she held an infant. The victim was bleeding from the face, and blood was found in several places in the living room, a report stated.
