Workshop scheduled today for nonprofits

The Raymond John Wean Foundation, 147 W. Market St., will present “Speaking Out: The Power of Finding and Exercising Your Public Voice” from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. today in the Western Reserve Room. This workshop will outline strategies for nonprofit organizations to effectively manage public relations challenges as well as how to seize opportunies to enter public discussions. Moderator will be Teleange’ Thomas, director of the Foundation Center-Midwest. Panelists will include Doug Oplinger, project manager from Your Voice Ohio, and former managing editor of Akron Beacon Journal; Cynthia Connolly, resource development manager of Policy Matters Ohio; John Pogue, attorney at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd.; and Ian Beniston, executive director of Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp.
