Bergen to star in revival of ‘Murphy Brown’

Candice Bergen is returning to TV in a revival of “Murphy Brown,” the agenda-setting 20th-century comedy.

CBS said in an announcement Wednesday that it has ordered 13 episodes of the sitcom for its 2018-19 season.

Diane English created the original series that starred Bergen as a hard-charging TV journalist. English will return as writer and executive producer for the reboot.

Bergen, who won multiple lead-actress Emmys for the original, will be an executive producer, CBS said. The 71-year-old actress will be reprising her role.

The series addressed hot-button social and political issues, drawing applause and the ire of critics including then-Vice President Dan Quayle. It ran for 10 seasons from 1988 to 1998.

Paul resurfaces on YouTube with anti-suicide video

YouTube star Logan Paul has returned to YouTube with a 7-minute suicide-prevention video he hopes will “make a difference in the world.”

Paul was suspended by YouTube after posting video of him in a forest in Japan near what seemed to be a body hanging from a tree. The location is known in Japan as a frequent site for suicides.

He returned to the video-sharing platform Wednesday with a new video in which he speaks to suicide prevention experts and offers steps to help others, seeking to “further understand the complexity surrounding suicide.”

Said Paul: “It’s time to learn from the past as I get better and grow as a human being. I’m here to have a hard conversation so that those who are suffering have easier ones.”

Award-winning artist Cyndi Lauper sells Connecticut home

STAMFORD, Conn.

Grammy, Emmy and Tony-award winning artist Cyndi Lauper has sold her Connecticut home of more three decades.

The nearly 3,900- square-foot home in Stamford sold for a little more than $800,000, well below the $1.25 million asking price it was originally listed for in May.

Real-estate agent Michael Leventhal told the Stamford Advocate the home “got worldwide attention and a lot of interest.”

Lauper bought the home in 1986.
