Man gets 11 years in shooting death

WARREN

Jimmy R. Stella Jr. was sentenced to 11 years in prison today after pleading guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to involuntary manslaughter and other charges in the October 2016 shooting death of Mark Cleveland, 66, in his Bane Street, Warren Township home.

Stella was indicted on murder in October after Stella's arrest in February 2017 led investigators to find evidence.

A family member said Cleveland was standing near a second-floor window of his home south of Warren, looking out, when he was hit in the leg by gunfire early Oct. 17. He died when the shot hit a major artery.

Stella was sentenced to three years in prison in February 2012 after pleading guilty to two counts of cocaine possession and one of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
