Election-fraud suit
Election-fraud suit
YOUNGSTOWN
Visiting Judge Patricia A. Cosgrove will preside over the first hearing in Sean McKinney’s election-fraud lawsuit at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2 in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
McKinney claims widespread voter fraud took place in November’s mayoral election, which he lost to Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito Brown.
The hearing could include discussion of the host of subpoenas McKinney issued to Brown and several current and former county employees. Those parties subsequently filed motions to quash the subpoenas arguing that McKinney does not have the right to issue them. Judge Cosgrove has not ruled on the subpoenas’ legitimacy.

Parent makes threat
WARREN
Police are investigating a threat Warren City Schools officials say a parent made toward the Lincoln K-8 school and its staff, over what a parent said was the mistreatment of her daughters on the school bus.
Police were contacted after a 3:45 p.m. phone call Tuesday from the parent. The woman made “several threats” to a secretary at the school, a Warren police report says. The school is on Atlantic Street Northeast.
The secretary said this was an “ongoing problem with this parent.”
A Warren man was convicted last year in Warren Municipal Court of telecommunications harassment and making false alarms after using Facebook to threaten a massacre at his daughter’s Warren public school over his child’s treatment by other children.
